  • BONUS CHRISTIANUS 1966

In 1966 he composed his first Christian march: Bonus Christianus, dedicated to D. Antonio Cambra, a true festival-goer and president of the Ontinyent Festival-goers Society from 1961 to 1963. This march won second prize at the III Festival of Festive Music in Alcoy. After the aforementioned competition, the author modified it, adapting it more to the parade, being one of the precursors and most performed in the Moors and Christians festival geography.

  • APOSTOL POETA "RAFAEL DUYOS"1978

The Christian march Apostol poeta “Rafael Duyos” was written in honour of the poet Rafael Duyos who had preached the Ontinyent festivities on two occasions. This march won second prize in the Alcoy competition held on 22 October 1978, and is without a doubt one of the most performed Christian marches of our festival.

It was premiered at the Mig Any concert in 1978.

  • ILICITANA1984

In 1984, a competition for composing Christian marches was held in Elche, and Jose Mª Ferrero entered the competition with the march entitled Ilicitana. At the last minute, the competition was cancelled, but the author kept the title, and premiered it in Elche that same year.

In this competition, the Christian march genre has a new example of the enormous possibilities of this musical form. Some passages of this march are inspired by the “Misteri” of that city.
